The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announces the arrest of a suspect involved in a carjacking and an assault in the District of Columbia.
On June 24, 2026, at approximately 11:45 p.m., Sixth District officers responded to the 600 block of Parkside Place, Northeast, for the report of an armed carjacking. The suspects approached the victim’s vehicle, brandished firearms, and demanded the victim exit their vehicle. The suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle prior to officers arriving. On July 13, 2026, at approximately 11:09 a.m., Sixth District officers responded to the 300 block of Anacostia Road, Southeast, for the report of an assault. The suspect assaulted the victim, striking the victim with a firearm. The suspect fled the scene prior to officers arriving. CCN: 26097355
On Tuesday, September 15, 2026, pursuant to a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant, MPD members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) located and arrested 18-year-old Jehvae Armani Boone of Arlington, VA.
As a result of the detectives' investigation, Boone was charged with Armed Carjacking and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Pistol Whipping).
The armed carjacking remains under investigation. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
