The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in Southeast.
On Monday, September 7, 2026, at approximately 3:45 p.m., Seventh District officers were flagged down in the 700 block of Southern Avenue, Southeast, for the report person down. Officers located an adult male, unconscious and not breathing, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS responded and, after finding no signs consistent with life, pronounced the victim dead on scene.
The decedent has been identified as 31-year-old Reginald Lamont Dorsey., of Waldorf, Maryland.
