The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of the suspect who robbed a pharmacy in Northwest.
On Friday, August 21, 2026, at approximately 6:22 p.m., officers from the Third District responded to a pharmacy in the 1700 block of 11th Street, Northwest, for a report of an armed robbery. The male suspect entered the business wearing a black ski mask and demanded prescription medications. The suspect then jumped over the counter and made additional demands while brandishing a firearm. He subsequently fled the location in a vehicle with stolen prescription drugs.
Responding officers located the suspect after he crashed his vehicle and fled on foot in the 1500 block of North Capitol Street, Northwest. A firearm and prescription drugs were recovered at the scene. There were no injuries to bystanders or other vehicles involved in the crash.
25-year-old Jamari Brighthaupt of Southeast, D.C., was arrested charged with:
- Robbery While Armed (Gun)
- Possession of Firearm During a Crime of Violence
- Carrying a Pistol without a License
- Possession of an Unregistered Firearm
- Possession of Unregistered Ammunition
- Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device
- Felon in Possession (firearm)
- No Permit
- Leaving After Colliding-Property Damage
- Resisting Arrest
- Wearing a Mask (during a crime of violence)
