The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of the suspect in a shooting that occurred in Southeast.
On Thursday, February 26, 2026, at approximately 12:28 p.m., Seventh District officers responded to the report of a shooting in the 1200 block of Valley Avenue, SE. Upon arrival, officers located a man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. DC Fire and EMS responded and transported the man to an area hospital for treatment.
On Thursday, August 20, 2026, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrest 30-year-old Dyontae Taylor of Southeast, DC. Taylor was charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).
