The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a death that has been ruled a homicide as a result of a shooting that occurred in 2022.
On Friday, July 29, 2022, at approximately 9:12 p.m., Seventh District officers responded to the report of a shooting in the 100 block of Darrington Street Southwest. Upon arrival, officers located two adult males, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
On Thursday, August 22, 2024, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The victim was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner where the cause of death was complications from gunshot injuries, and the manner of death was ruled homicide.
The victim has been identified as 45-year-old Thyjuan Bostic, of Southwest, DC.
