MPD Investigating Fatal Shooting in Southeast

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting in Southeast.

On Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at approximately 2:27 a.m., members of the Seventh District responded to the report of a shooting in the 4000 block of South Capitol Street, Southeast. Officers located two victims, inside of an apartment, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS personnel responded to the scene and transported the first victim to a local hospital where he was admitted in critical condition. The second victim was pronounced dead on scene

The decedent has been identified as 38-year-old Morris Frazier, of Southeast, DC.

Anyone who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
