Arrests Made in Robbery Offenses

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division announced arrests made in recent robbery cases in Washington, DC.

 

First District:

 

  • On Monday, May 18, 2020, 26 year-old Kwame Payne, of Clinton, MD, was arrested and charged as an adult for an Assault With Intent to Commit Robbery offense that occurred on Sunday, May 17, 2020, in the 400 block of New Jersey Avenue, Southeast. CCN 20-073-634.
    • At approximately 11:59 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect attempted to take property from the victim. The suspect then assaulted the victim. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.

 

Fifth District:

 

  • On Tuesday, May 19, 2020, a 16 year-old juvenile, of Northwest, DC, was arrested for an Armed Robbery (Knife) offense that occurred on Monday, May 18, 2020, in the 100 block of Franklin Street, Northeast. CCN 20-073-657.
    • At approximately 1:36 am, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a knife and took property from the victim. The suspect then fled the scene. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
