Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District have announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) offense that occurred on Monday, July 1, 2019, in the 400 block of 8th Street, Southeast.
At approximately 2:00 pm, the suspect and the victim were involved in a verbal altercation at the listed location. During the altercation, the suspect brandished a knife and stabbed the victim. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
On Monday, July 1, 2019, 45 year-old Monica Latrice Barnes, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).
