Traffic Advisory: Funk Parade

On Saturday, May 11, 2019, the Funk Parade will take place in the District of Columbia. In conjunction with this event, there will be several street closures that motorists should take into consideration.

The following streets will be closed on from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for the parade route:

  • T Street between Vermont Avenue and Florida Avenue, NW
  • Vermont Avenue between U Street and 11th Street, NW
  • U Street between 9th Street and 13th Street, NW

The following locations are Performance Areas that are associated with the parade and may cause some traffic congestion between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

  • 1925 Vermont Avenue, NW
  • 1240 U Street, NW
  • 2000 14th Street, NW
  • 2007 11th Street, NW
  • 1937 11th Street, NW
  • 10th Street and V Street, NW
  • 815 Florida Avenue, NW
  • 625 T Street, NW

All street closures and listed times are subject to change based upon prevailing or unexpected conditions.

The public should expect parking restrictions along the street and should be guided by the posted emergency no parking signage. All vehicles that are parked in violation of the emergency no parking signs will be ticketed and towed.

Motorists could encounter possible delays if operating in the vicinity of this event and may wish to consider alternative routes. The Metropolitan Police Department and the D.C. Department of Transportation also wishes to remind motorists in the vicinity of this event to proceed with caution as increased pedestrian traffic can be anticipated.
