TRAFFIC ADVISORY: 2019 National Police Week 5K

The Metropolitan Police Department and the Department of Transportation would like to inform the public of street closures and Emergency No Parking in conjunction with the 2019 National Police Week 5K on Saturday, May 11, 2019.

The following street will be closed from approximately 5:00 am to 11:00 am:

· F Street NW from 3^rd Street to 5^th Street NW

The following streets will be closed from 8:45 am to 10:00 am along the race route:

· 5th Street NW from H Street to E Street NW

· 4th Street NW from H Street to E Street NW

· 4th Street SW from Jefferson Drive to D Street SW

· 3rd Street NW from H Street to D Street SW

· G Street NW from 6th Street to 3rd Street NW

· F Street NW from 6th Street to 3rd Street NW

· E Street NW from 6th Street to 2nd Street NW

· Indiana Ave NW from 5th Street to 2nd Street NW

· C Street NW from 6th Street to 3rd Street NW

· Pennsylvania Ave NW from 7th Street to 3rd Street NW

· Constitution Ave NW from 7th Street to Louisiana Ave NW

· Madison Drive NW from 4th Street to 3rd Street NW

· Jefferson Drive SW form 4th Street to 3rd Street SW

· Independence Ave SW from 7th Street to Washington Ave SW

· C Street SW from 6th Street to 3rd Street SW

The following streets will be posted as Emergency No Parking from 5:00 am to 12:00 pm:

The public should expect parking restrictions along the entire parade route and should be guided by the posted emergency no parking signage. All vehicles that are parked along the route and in violation of the emergency no parking signs will be ticked and towed.

Motorists traveling in the area of this event may experience delays and should consider alternative routes, if possible. The Metropolitan Police Department and the DC Department of Transportation would like to remind motorists to pay full attention whenever operating any motor vehicle and to be mindful of heavy pedestrian traffic that may be associated with special events. These street closings are subject to change without notice based upon unanticipated events and prevailing conditions.
