Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announced an arrest has been made in reference to a homicide that occurred on Friday, March 1, 2019, in the 2600 block of Wade Road, Southeast.
At approximately 11:01 am, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 64-year-old Jawaid Bhutto, of Southeast, D.C.
On Friday, March 01, 2019, 45-year-old Hilman Jordan, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder while Armed.
