Suspect Sought in an Armed Carjacking (Gun) Offense: 2700 Block of 22nd Street, Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District seek the public’s assistance in locating a suspect in reference to an Armed Carjacking (Gun) offense that occurred on Sunday, July 21, 2019, in the 2700 block of 22nd Street, Northeast.

 

At approximately 7:41 am, the suspect attempted to enter a victim’s vehicle. The victim confronted the suspect, at which time the suspect brandished a handgun and assaulted the victim. The suspect then fled the scene and approached a second victim in her vehicle. The suspect brandished a handgun and demanded the second victim’s vehicle. A third victim attempted to intervene when the suspect shot the third victim. The suspect then fled in the second victim’s vehicle. The first and third victims sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to local area hospitals.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
