*Re-Release* Suspect Sought in a Homicide: 4300 Block of G Street, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Saturday, March 16, 2019, in the 4300 block of G Street, Southeast.

At approximately 9:35 pm, members of the Sixth District responded to the listed location for the report of an unconscious infant. Upon arrival, members observed DC Fire and EMS personnel performing life-saving measures on an unconscious and unresponsive infant inside of a residence. The victim was transported to a local hospital and was admitted in grave condition. On Tuesday, March 19, 2019, the infant succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.

The decedent was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner where an autopsy was performed. As a result, the cause of death was determined to be blunt force injuries and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.

The decedent has been identified as 3 month-old Skylar Newman of Southeast, DC.

The suspect in this case has been identified as 25-year-old Cornell Delvonte Holton. Holton is currently wanted on a DC Superior Court arrest warrant for First Degree Murder- Felony Murder. He can be seen in the photo below:

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any Homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
