Person of Interest Sought in a Homicide: 1200 Block of First Street, Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a person of interest in reference to a homicide that occurred on Saturday, November 19, 2022, in the 1200 block of First Street, Northeast.

 

At approximately 9:50 pm, members of the Fifth District responded to the listed location for the report of the sound of a gunshot. Upon arrival, the members located an adult female victim, inside of a hotel room, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and after finding no signs consistent with life, the victim remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

 

The decedent has been identified as 18-year-old Akira Wilson of Southeast, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
