The Metropolitan Police Department announces an arrest in a burglary and assault with intent to commit first degree sexual abuse offense that occurred in Northwest.
On Saturday, June 14, 2025, at approximately 12:45 a.m., the suspect entered an occupied residence in the 1200 block of 11th Street, Northwest. Once inside, the suspect assaulted the victim and attempted to commit an unwanted forced sexual act. The suspect then fled the scene.
On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, pursuant to a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant 32-year-old Makel McGrier, of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Burglary One, Assault with Intent to Commit First-Degree Sexual Abuse, and Third-Degree Sex Abuse.
