The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect involved in a shooting that occurred in Southeast.
On Saturday, March 1, 2025, at approximately 7:10 p.m., officers responded to the 5100 block of Hanna Place, Southeast, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a male teenage victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The suspect fled the scene. DC Fire and EMS transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
On Thursday, March 6, 2025, a 16-year-old juvenile male of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with Intent to Kill.
After the suspect's arrest, a search warrant was executed at the suspect's home, a firearm was recovered.
