Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Second District have announced an arrest has been made in reference to a Possession of Prohibited Weapon offense that occurred on Saturday, June 8, 2019, in the Unit block of DuPont Circle, Northwest.
At approximately 7:20 pm, members of the Second District responded to the report of a man with a gun at the listed location. Upon arrival, it was learned that the suspect was involved in a verbal dispute with another subject at the listed location. Responding officers located an imitation pistol inside of the suspect’s bag. The suspect was apprehended.
On Saturday, June 8, 2019, 38 year-old Aftabjit Singh, of No Fixed Address, was arrested and charged with Possession of Prohibited Weapon.
Additionally, a female assaulted an MPD officer while the male suspect was being arrested. On Saturday, June 8, 2019, 43 year-old Melissa Duffy, of No Fixed Address, was arrested and charged with Assault on a Police Officer.
