Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First and Second Districts announce an arrest has been made in reference to multiple Theft and Burglary offenses that occurred in the First and Second District.
First District:
Theft One: On Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at approximately 6:54 am, the suspect took the victim’s property from a building in the 700 block of 6th Street, Northwest. The suspect then fled the scene. CCN: 19-069-545
Theft One: On Thursday, June 13, 2019, at approximately 8:30 pm, the suspect took the victim’s property from a building in the 600 block of Massachusetts Avenue, Northwest. The suspect then fled the scene. CCN: 19-103-499
Burglary Two: On Monday, July 1, 2019, at approximately 6:33 am, in the 600 block of Maryland Avenue, Southwest, the suspect entered a building at the listed location. The suspect took property then fled the scene. CCN: 19-115-912
Second District:
Burglary Two: On Saturday, April 27, 2019, at approximately 1:38 pm, in the 1100 block of Connecticut Avenue, Northwest, the suspect entered a building at the listed location. The suspect took property then fled the scene. CCN: 19-074-868
Burglary Two: On Thursday, June 20, 2019, at approximately 6:19 pm, in the Unit block of DuPont Circle, Northwest, the suspect entered a building at the listed location. The suspect took property then fled the scene. CCN: 19-107-581
Theft One: On Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at approximately 8:30 pm, the suspect took the victim’s property from a building in the 1400 block of K Street, Northwest. The suspect then fled the scene. CCN: 19-121-130
Burglary Two: On Monday, July 15, 2019, at approximately 5:00 pm, in the 1100 block of 15th Street, Northwest, the suspect entered a building at the listed location. The suspect took property then fled the scene. CCN: 19-124-381
Burglary Two: On Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at approximately 8:50 pm, in the 1000 block of Vermont Avenue, Northwest, the suspect entered a building at the listed location and attempted to take property. The suspect was unsuccessful and fled the scene. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers. CCN: 19-125-440
On Wednesday, July 17, 2019, 53-year-old Kenard Eugene Johnson, of La Plata, MD, was arrested and charged with three counts of Theft One and five counts of Burglary Two.
