Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announce an arrest in a homicide that occurred on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, in the 2800 block of Alabama Avenue, Southeast.
At approximately 1:13 am, members of the Sixth District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, the members located an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 36-year-old Vernon Harrison, of Northeast, DC.
On Friday, December 30, 2022, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) arrested 29-year-old Antoine Tucker, of no fixed address. He has been charged with First Degree Murder While Armed – Felony Murder.
