Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fourth District announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) offense that occurred on Saturday, February 8, 2019, in the 5900 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest.
At approximately 4:35 pm, the suspect and the victim were involved in a verbal altercation at the listed location. The suspect brandished a knife and stabbed the victim then fled the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
On Saturday, May 4, 2019, pursuant to DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 30 year-old Elmer Sanchez-Ayala of Northwest, DC was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).
