Arrest Made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) Offense: 2800 Block of Alabama Avenue, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sixth District have announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) offense that occurred on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, in the 2800 block of Alabama Avenue, Southeast.

At approximately 10:45 am, the victim and suspect were involved in a verbal dispute at the listed location. The suspect brandished a knife, assaulted the victim, and fled the scene. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

On Saturday, October 5, 2019, 33 year-old James Napolean Tinner, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).
