Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) offense that occurred on Saturday, June 1, 2019, in the 2000 block of 12th Street, Northwest.
At approximately 9:36 pm, the suspect and three victims engaged in a verbal dispute at the listed location. During the dispute, the suspect brandished a knife and stabbed the three victims. The suspect then fled the scene. Two of the victims were transported to local hospitals for non-life threatening injuries. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
On Saturday, June 1, 2019, 22 year-old Kenneth Lenell Currie, of Northwest, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).
