Arrest Made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) Offense: 1300 Block of Congress Street, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Seventh District have announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) offense that occurred on Thursday, July 25, 2019, in the 1300 block of Congress Street, Southeast.

At approximately 10:34 pm, the suspect and the victim were involved in a verbal altercation at the listed location. During the altercation, the suspect brandished a knife and attempted to stab the victim. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.

On Thursday, July 25, 2019, 52 year-old Evelyn Williams, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).
