Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Monday, December 16, 2019, in the unit block of M Street, Northwest.
At approximately 11:10 pm, the suspect and two victims were engaged in a verbal altercation at the listed location. The suspect brandished a handgun threatened the victims. The suspect then fled the scene. A firearm was recovered.
On Tuesday, December 17, 2019, 39 year-old Jamaal Rivera, of Lanham, MD, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) and Carrying a Pistol without a License.
