Arrest Made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) Offense in the Seventh District and an Armed Robbery Offense in the Second District

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Second and Seventh Districts announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) and an Armed Robbery offense that occurred at the below locations.

 

Seventh District:

 

  • On Sunday, December 22, 2019, at approximately 4:33 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the 2900 block of 30th Street, Southeast for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. CCN: 19-227-551

 

On Monday, February 10, 2020, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 37 year-old Gregory Toran, of Jessup, MD., was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).

 

As a result of the detectives’ investigation, Toran was additionally charged with Armed Robbery (Gun) in reference to the below offense.

 

Second District:

 

  • On Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at approximately 5:21 am, two suspects approached the victim, inside of a room, in the 800 block of New Hampshire Avenue, Northwest. Once inside, one of the suspects brandished a handgun and both suspects took property from the victim. The suspects then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation. CCN: 20-008-034
