Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District have announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Armed Carjacking (Gun) offense that occurred on Friday, July 5, 2019, in the 400 block of 14 Street, Southeast.
At approximately 4:20 PM, the victim and the suspect met via the “OfferUp” app at the listed location in reference to the sale of the victim’s vehicle. Once inside the vehicle, the suspect brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s vehicle and property. The victim complied. The suspect fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.
On Monday, July 22, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 18 year-old Kayvaughn Brown of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Armed Carjacking (Gun).
