The below information on disciplinary actions includes sustained misconduct investigations referred to MPD’s Disciplinary Review Division that resulted in adverse action in 2022. Adverse actions include any fine, suspension, removal from service, or reduction in rank or pay. The Department’s disciplinary process is detailed in MPD policy, General Order 120.21 Disciplinary Procedures and Processes. In 2022, for sworn members, 53 percent of adverse actions resulted in a suspension of 10 days or fewer, 33 percent resulted in suspension between 11 and 30 days, and 6 percent resulted in termination.
