Stay Connected with MPD Community Outreach
The Metropolitan Police Department has updated the way we share community outreach information. MPD is no longer using Google Groups to distribute community messages. All outreach communications are now sent through GovDelivery, a subscription-based email platform used across the DC Government. This change ensures community members receive timely, reliable information and have full control over their subscription preferences.
What You Can Expect
By subscribing through GovDelivery, you will receive updates on MPD’s community outreach efforts, along with the option to sign up for additional topics, including:
- MPD News Releases (including statements and traffic advisories)
- MPD Missing Person Alerts
- Preliminary Crime and Arrest Reports (options for all seven Police Districts)
- Community Outreach (by district)
Community outreach messaging and preliminary arrest and crime reports are shared by police district. If you don't know your police district, you can find it here.
Already Subscribed through a Former Google Group?
If you were previously part of an MPD Google Group, you have been automatically added to the new GovDelivery distribution list for community outreach. No action is required unless you previously opted out of receiving emails from GovDelivery. If you opted out, you can simply re-subscribe at the link below.
