Woman Killed in Northwest DC

(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch are investigating the death of a woman in Northwest D.C.

On Saturday, October 14, 2023, at approximately 4:20 a.m., Third District officers were flagged down in front of the 900 block of U Street for a person down in the roadway. Officers were advised the victim was assaulted and then struck by a vehicle. The victim was transported to a local hospital where she later died.

The striking vehicle stayed on the scene and was not involved in the initial assault.

During the investigation, it was determined that the victim ended up in the roadway due to the assault.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and ruled the cause of death to be multiple blunt force injuries and the manner of death a homicide.

The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Anee Roberson, of Northwest, D.C.

Detectives are working to identify the suspects who assaulted Roberson resulting in her death.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
