Woman Dead After Being Struck by Vehicle in Northeast, DC

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Major Crash Unit are investigating a traffic fatality that killed a woman in Northeast, DC.

 

The preliminary investigation revealed that on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at approximately 10:07 p.m., a woman was crossing the road on 17th Street, Northeast, at Lang Place, Northeast. The woman was struck by an unknown dark colored vehicle that was travelling northbound on 17th Street, Northeast. The vehicle fled the scene before officers arrived on scene.

 

The pedestrian was in the area of the south crosswalk.

 

The woman was transported to a local hospital where she died. 

 

The decedent’s identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
