*Updated with Additional Photos* Suspects Sought in Robbery and Arson Offenses: 400 Block of 8th Street, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's First District and investigators with the DC Arson Task Force seek the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects in reference to Robbery and Arson offenses that occurred in the 400 block of 8th Street, Southeast.

  • On Sunday, March 8, 2020, at approximately 10:38 pm, two suspects entered an establishment at the listed location. One of the suspects ignited a flammable liquid then threw it at an employee. The same suspect then took merchandise after an attempt to take US currency from a cash register failed. Both suspects exited the established and fled the scene. There were no injuries reported.

 

  • On Friday, March 13, 2020, at approximately 1:44 am, the suspect entered an establishment at the listed location. The suspect reached over the counter and attempted to open the cash register. When the suspect’s attempt failed, he jumped over the counter and began taking merchandise as the employee resisted. The suspect then fled the scene with merchandise.

 

The suspects, from both cases, were captured by a nearby surveillance cameras and can be seen in the photos below.
