Traffic Fatality: Intersection of Malcolm X Avenue and Oakwood Street, Southeast

 Detectives with the Metropolitan Police Department's Major Crash Investigations Unit are investigating a traffic fatality resulting from a traffic crash that occurred on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at the intersection of Malcolm X Avenue and Oakwood Street, Southeast.

 

At approximately 7:58 pm, members from the Seventh District responded to the listed location for the report of a pedestrian struck. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and the victim was taken to an area hospital. On Friday, February 12, 2021, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

 

The decedent has been identified as 47 year-old Troy Mason, of Southeast, DC.
