Detectives with the Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Crash Investigations Unit are investigating a traffic fatality that occurred on Saturday, April 20, 2019, in the 4000 block of East Capitol Street, Northeast.
At approximately 7:00 a.m., an Infinity vehicle was traveling westbound in the 4000 block of East Capitol Street, NE, at a high rate of speed. The operator of the vehicle lost control of the car and struck the south side curb. The vehicle continued westbound and traversed across all three westbound lanes until it struck a tree. The vehicle then became engulfed in flames.
The decedent has not been identified at this time.
