Traffic Advisory: 2019 DC Bike Ride

The Metropolitan Police Department wishes to advise the public that the 2019 DC Bike Ride is scheduled to be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019. In order to facilitate this event there will be no vehicular traffic allowed along the route of bike ride.

 

The bike ride is scheduled to begin at approximately 8:00 am; however some street closures will begin as early as 12:00 am for the start/finish lines festival area buildout, and 6:30 am for the route closures. All streets affected by the 2019 DC Bike Ride are expected to be reopened at approximately 12:00 pm and the festival area by 5:00 pm.

 

The public should expect parking restrictions along the entire 2019 DC Bike Ride route and should be guided by the posted “emergency no parking signage.” All vehicles that are parked along the route and in violation of the emergency no parking signs will be ticketed and towed.

  • Chain Bridge
  • Canal and Foxhall Roads
  • Clara Barton Parkway
  • Wisconsin Avenue
  • K Street Corridor
  • M Street Corridor

 

Motorists could encounter possible delays if operating in the vicinity of this event and may wish to consider alternative routes. The Metropolitan Police Department and the D.C. Department of Transportation also wishes to remind motorists in the vicinity of this event to proceed with caution as increased pedestrian traffic can be anticipated.
