Suspect Sought in a Robbery (Force and Violence) Offense: 1600 Block of Benning Road, Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Fifth District seek the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in reference to a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Monday, April 1, 2019, in the 1600 block of Benning Road, Northeast.

Between approximately 6:20 am and 7:54 am, the suspect entered an establishment at the listed location. The suspect brandished a broom and assaulted the victim. The suspect proceeded to steal US currency from the establishment and fled the scene afterwards.

The suspect was captured by a nearby surveillance camera and can be seen in the photo below:
