Suspect Sought in Assault with Intent to Commit First Degree Sexual Abuse and Robbery (Force and Violence) Offenses: 1500 Block of 1st Street, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Sexual Assault Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect in reference to an Assault with the Intent to Commit First Degree Sexual Abuse and Robbery (Force and Violence) offenses that occurred on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, in the 1500 block of 1st Street, Southeast.

 

At approximately 3:10 am, the suspect approached the female victim, physically assaulted her, and then forcibly took her property. The suspect then attempted to sexually assault the victim. The suspect then fled the scene.

 

The suspect is described as a Black male, 23-27 years of age, 6’0”- 6’1” in height, with a skinny build, medium skin complexion, short dreadlock hairstyle, and a light beard. The suspect was last seen wearing a black shirt and blue pants.
