MPD Seeking Suspect in Road Rage Incident

The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance in identifying a suspect who assaulted and destroyed a victim’s property in Northwest.

On Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the victim was crossing in a crosswalk in the 4700 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest, when a verbal dispute occurred with the suspect, who was stopped in a vehicle. The suspect exited their vehicle with a baseball bat, aggressively confronted and threatened the victim, then snatched the victim’s phone from their hands as they called police and threw it to the ground, damaging it. The suspect fled before officers arrived. The victim was not injured.

 The suspect was captured by security cameras and can be seen in this video.

 Anyone who can identify this suspect or who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.  The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for a crime committed in the District of Columbia.
