MPD Makes Arrest in Southeast Stabbing

The Metropolitan Police Department announces an arrest of a suspect involved in a stabbing that occurred in Southeast.

 

On September 29, 2025, at approximately 1:39 a.m., Sixth District officers responded to the 2400 block of Marion Barry Avenue, Southeast, for the report of a stabbing. The suspect produced a knife during a dispute and stabbed the victim. DC Fire and EMS transported the victim, an adult female, to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene prior to the officers' arrival.

 

On Saturday, November 15, 2025, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 44-year-old Tekesia Atiya Hancock of Southeast, D.C., was arrested. As a result of the detective's investigation, Hancock was charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).
