MPD Makes Arrest in Northeast Stabbing

Monday, December 1, 2025

The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect in a stabbing in Northeast.

On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at approximately 6:25 p.m., Sixth District officers responded to the 1600 block of Kenilworth Avenue, Northeast, for the report of a stabbing. Officers located an adult male victim suffering from a stab wound. DC Fire and EMS responded and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation determined the suspect intervened in an argument, and then produced a knife and stabbed the victim.

On Friday, November 28, 2025, Sixth District officers familiar with the case observed the suspect at the same location and effected an arrest. A knife was recovered.

As a result of the detective's investigation, 49-year-old Gerard Fitzgerald Roseby was charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).
