MPD Investigating Southeast Homicide

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting in Southeast.

On Saturday, September 28, 2024, at approximately 2:18 a.m., officers were in the 2700 block of Langston Place, Southeast, when they heard multiple gunshots. Officers located a man with gunshot wounds in front of a residence, who was later pronounced dead.

Officers also located a man and two women with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. All three were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

The decedent has been identified as 27-year-old Dee Monte Pernell Chase, of Southeast.

Anyone who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
