MPD Investigating Northwest Homicide

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in Northwest.

On Monday, May 20, 2024, at approximately 9:12 p.m., Fourth District officers responded to the 7300 block of Blair Road, Northwest, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a man suffering from gunshot injuries. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and after finding no signs of life, the victim was pronounced dead. A short time later, a second victim was located in the 800 block of Fern Street, Northwest, also suffering from gunshot injuries. The second victim was transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Rashaud Johnson, of Northwest.

Anyone who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
