MPD Investigating Fatal Shooting in Northeast

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a homicide in Northeast.

On Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at approximately 10:15 a.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Division Avenue, Northeast, for the report of sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, they located a man suffering from gunshot wounds inside of a park. The victim was transported to a local hospital by DC Fire and EMS. Despite all life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead.

The victim was identified as 38-year-old Antowine Baker, of Northeast, DC.

Anyone who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
