MPD Investigating Fatal Shooting

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting in Northwest.

On Friday, August 23, 2024, at approximately 6:57 p.m., officers responded to the 1300 block of Girard Street, Northwest for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Despite all lifesaving efforts, the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 25-year-old Martinez Robinson of Waldorf, MD.

Anyone who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
