MPD Investigating Fatal Crash Involving a Pedestrian in Northwest

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Major Crash Investigations Unit are investigating a traffic crash that resulted in the death of a pedestrian.

The preliminary investigation determined that on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at approximately 8:05 a.m., a vehicle was waiting at a red light on Q Street, Northwest, at Foxhall Road. When the light turned green, the vehicle began turning left onto Foxhall Road, Northwest, and struck a pedestrian who was in the crosswalk, causing the pedestrian to bump their head. The striking vehicle remained on the scene and the pedestrian was transported to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 77-year-old Patricia Bullinger of Northwest, DC.
