MPD Arrests Two Suspects in Southeast Shooting

The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of two suspects in a shooting in Southeast.

On Monday, November 18, 2024, at approximately 8:15 a.m., Seventh District officers responded to the sound of gunshots in the 500 block of Valley Avenue, Southeast. Officers located an adult male, conscious and breathing, suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported by DC Fire and EMS to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

While canvassing the area, officers stopped and detained two suspects that matched a lookout. Two firearms were also recovered at the scene. 20-year-old Darion Muhammad and a 17-year-old male, both of Northeast DC, were arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).

A stolen vehicle fled the scene with an additional suspect inside. The vehicle was captured on a nearby surveillance camera and can be seen in the photo below:

Anyone who locates this vehicle and/or who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a crime committed in the District of Columbia.
