MPD Arrests Suspects in Chinatown Assault

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announce the arrests of two suspects in an assault that occurred in Chinatown.

On Sunday, May 12, 2024 at 9:06 p.m., the victims reported being outside a business in the 700 block of 7th Street, Northwest, when an argument ensued between the victims and multiple suspects. The suspects began to assault the victims. One of the victims was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

On Wednesday, May 15, 2024, two suspects turned themselves in at the First District.

As a result of detective’s investigation, 38-year-old Daniel Tyrone Marshall of Southeast, was charged with Assault with Significant Bodily Injury and 36-year-old Porcha Nicole Jenifer of Brandywine, MD, was charged with Simple Assault.

This case remains under investigation. Anyone who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for a crime committed in the District of Columbia.
