MPD Arrests Suspects in Armed Carjacking

The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of two suspects involved in an armed carjacking that occurred in Southeast.
 
On Saturday, May 3, 2025, at approximately 6:40 p.m., while working on a rideshare app, the victim picked up the suspects at the intersection of Queens Stroll Place and 51st Street, Southeast. The suspects brandished a firearm and pointed it at the victim. The victim exited his vehicle, and the suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.  
 
As a result of the detective’s investigation, on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, pursuant to a DC Superior Court custody order, a 17-year-old juvenile male and 16-year-old juvenile male, both of Southeast, DC, were arrested and charged with Armed Carjacking

This case remains under investigation. Anyone who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
