MPD Arrests Suspect in Southeast Gun Offense

The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect involved in an assault with a dangerous weapon (gun) offense in Southeast.

On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at approximately 1:42 a.m., the suspect approached the victims in the 2900 block of Knox Place, Southeast. The suspect brandished a handgun, pointed it at the victim, and then fled the scene.

Seventh District officers responded and located the suspect in a nearby residence. A barricade was declared and members of MPD’s Emergency Response Team responded to the scene. After several hours, the suspect surrendered and was placed under arrest without incident. The suspect’s firearm was recovered.

As a result of the detective’s investigation, 27-year-old Renando Corbin, of Southeast, DC, was charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) and Possession of an Unregistered Firearm.
