The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect in an assault with a dangerous weapon incident that occurred in Northwest.
At approximately 8:34 a.m., on Thursday, March 13, 2025, Third District officers responded to an establishment in the 3100 block of Mount Pleasant Street, Northwest. Officers discovered that a man armed with a metal pole had smashed property before fleeing. When confronted by police, he assaulted officers but was successfully arrested. The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Jose Lemus, was charged with Assault with A Dangerous Weapon (Pole), Destruction of Property, two counts of Assault On A Police Officer (Simple Assault) and Failure To Appear.
