The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect involved in a fatal shooting that occurred in Southeast, DC, in 2023.
On Sunday, November 19, 2023, at approximately 8:21 p.m., Seventh District officers responded to the 2300 block of Good Hope Court, Southeast, for the report of an unconscious person inside of an apartment building. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim died at the scene.
The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Treyvon Wilson, of Northwest, DC.
On Monday, November 3, 2025, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested 23-year-old Martell West, of Southeast, DC. West has been charged with Second Degree Murder while Armed.
